BioPath.Design - Planning New Biochemical Synthesis Routes
BioPath.Design is a novel, web-based program suite that supports scientists in the area of metabolic engineering and retrobiosynthesis to identify, develop and optimize new biochemical synthesis routes for a given target compound.
BioPath.Design provides valuable ideas to conceive novel ″green chemistry″ manufacturing processes in an emerging field of utilizing biotransformations to produce bulk and fine chemicals, natural products, pharmaceuticals or biofuels.
Features & Functionality
- Identifies new biochemical synthesis routes for a high-value or high-volume compounds
- Suggests enzyme-catalyzed retrosynthesis steps based on automatically derived transformation rules
- Supports the suggested retrosynthetic steps by presenting similar reactions from BioPath
- Suggests retrosynthetic steps that might be completely novel
- Indicates which synthesis precursors are available in the endogenous metabolism
- Supports scientists in the area of metabolic engineering, retro-biosynthesis, green chemistry, or white biotechnology
- Generates printable and editable synthesis trees and reports
User Interface
- Web-based, interactive user interface for an easy control of the synthesis design process
- Printable and editable (RTF) synthesis trees and reports of entire synthesis studies
